The Griswold’s ain’t got nothin’ on us…

The Christmas  when I was in the third grade, we had moved to Leesburg, GA  as daddy had gotten a job with the company my Uncle Buster was working for there.

Any-who...

Per usual, we did not have much money – this was the year I learned to play cards because we did not have a — gasp — television! ( Could you imagine any of our children these days living without a satellite, let alone a television? They would report us for child abuse!) I digress…

As Christmas approached, I know my parents wondered what they were going to do about a tree. Uncle Buster didn’t.

He and daddy went out one night and they came back with a GIANT tree! We even had to cut the top off to fit it in the trailer! But not the back..it was flat…where it had been growing…along the side of the exit ramp….

Ah…the memories…trree
